From Idea to Income: 3 Stages of Monetization

We live in an age of infinite leverage, and the economic rewards for genuine intellectual curiosity have never been higher. Naval Ravikant

Naval Ravikant

I’ll be honest: I often struggle with maintaining my own sense of well-being.

Mostly on walks, I think about the idea if what I’m doing is right.

If this whole teaching you digital branding is a fraud thing.

If it isn’t making me a bad person.

In these situations, I always weigh the pros and cons.

And every single time I come to the same result.

It absolutely is.

I see a lot of people around me, mainly in school, who are clearly struggling in their occupation.

You know what I’m talking about.

You can see, this is not how they imagined their life.

And it hurts me.

I want to help as much of you realize the power of the digital brand online business.

It’s genuinely not that hard, and the rewards are simply something else.

I know you’ve heard of these before, the typical location, time and financial freedom.

But for me, I value the ability to actually help genuine people with something I love to do as the highest on that list.

Screw financial freedom, when you feel the gratitude, the feeling you’ve done a good work.

Nothing ever beats that.

I don’t want you to end up like an ordinary Joe.

The social media and creator economy is the new society that’s gonna only grow in the next 10-20 years.

At first, we thought everyone would be walking around in Apple VR headsets, but that’s not how society turned out.

Trust me, if you tap into the new creator economy and turn your passions into profit.

Life’s gonna feel unreal.

Don’t know how?

That’s what I’m here for, here are the 3 stages of monetization I took as a teenager to create a profitable digital brand.

1) Find Your Thing/Problem

Identify something you can see yourself doing for the next 5, even 10 years.

Think about your hobbies and natural interests.

Don’t shy away from the quirks of your hobby.

The internet connects you with the whole world.

There has to be someone like you.

If you're currently thinking that this all sounds great, but I don't have any hobbies.

Here's a harsh truth.

You're probably a pretty boring person.

But don’t worry, there's an alternative route you can take:

Simply find a problem to solve.

The world is full of unsolved problems.

Look around and think about how you can make someone's life better.

When you discover what makes others’ lives easier, you’ll earn some very good money.

2) Create a Solution

I see a lot of people overcomplicating this step, but it's really simple:

Find your passion or a problem → create a solution.

It can be anything; the possibilities are endless.

Let's say you love playing the guitar.

Your solution could be selling an online course for beginners or offering coaching.

Not sure what your solution should be? Look at what people are asking you for help with.

In my case, since starting my brand, people have been bombarding me with questions about building their own digital brands.

That’s why I created my online coaching program.

P.S. If you're interested, I've just opened two new spots for personalized coaching.

I'll guide you through the entire process of creating content, sharing it for maximum results, and eventually monetizing it like I teach in this newsletter.

I think this is a much better solution than selling a course because I'll tailor the guidance exactly to your unique needs.

3) Marketing → Sell To Your Younger Self

One of the fundamental rules of marketing is that “a confused mind always says no.

Russel Brunson

Marketing is the breaking point of all businesses.

Have you heard about the experiment with a fake jewelry brand?

They created a fancy name and marketed it so well that customers didn’t care about the price or actual quality.

The lesson here?

Marketing is what makes a product valuable in the eyes of the customer.

It determines the price and profits you'll achieve.

So, how should you market your products or services?

It’s simple: sell to your younger self.

This is how I market every product or service I offer.

I think about my needs from 1-2 years ago, what would catch my attention and make me buy?

Go deep into this exercise.

I have a full Google Doc describing my ideal customer (my younger self).

Write down everything that might be useful; the more detailed, the better.

Once you’ve done this, create valuable content for that person.

Even if you get just 1,000 impressions per month, you're almost guaranteed to make money.

Don't overcomplicate it.

With that said, let me sell you my coaching program for the last time. :)

I know it is annoying, but I truly believe it’s better for you than a course—and it’s cheaper.

There are only 2 spots left, so act fast; I don't offer this every day.
