How To Combat Imposter Syndrome
Hey broski, today I wanted to talk about that little inescapable feeling called imposter syndrome.
You know, the feeling that you aren't actually qualified to do what you're already doing.
It’s a strange phenomenon that leads to a prolonged feeling of not being knowledgeable enough to do something even though you're qualified.
And I can say from personal experience that it sucks.
Over the past few months of posting on IG, I've returned to the same question, “Who am I actually helping?” pretty often.
And the easiest way that I've found to get around it is to think about the younger version of myself.
The version of me that was stuck in a cycle of mind-numbing college classes, doom scrolling, and a feeling that I was capable of doing more.
So, anytime I start to wonder if anyone is finding any value in my content, I think about what he would think.
Would the younger me get value from this?
And if the answer is yes then I can say with certainty that I am helping anyone in similar shoes.
I want you to have the same mindset going into your content.
As long as some variant of you gets value from your videos, then you're good because, at any given moment, millions of people feel the exact same way you did.
Whether you believe it or not, there are an infinite number of people out there who desperately need your advice and insight.
So don't get caught up in those moments of self-doubt. You have all of the knowledge you need to help them.
You just need a roadmap and a little direction to help you get onto their feed.
